Welcome to the Deans Festival website!

 

Thank you to the many event helpers, the professionals working for free and everyone who came along to make this year's event so special.

This year's Deans Festival was on Saturday 12th May 2012, 11am to 4pm. A great event for all the family to enjoy.  Join us to for a day of attractions, competitions, entertainment and refreshments including:

 

Climbing wall, go-karts and sports galore!

The Sussex Raptor Club with their beautiful owls

Meet the East Sussex Reptile & Amphibian Society

Live music, workshops and displays

Craft area, children's entertainer and face painting

Traditional stalls such as hook-a-duck and tombola

Barbecue, café, curry, sweets and cakes

Licensed drinks tent - wine, beer and soft drinks

Top prizes in the Deans Festival raffle

In anticpation of this year's Deans Festival and in honour of the forthcoming Olympics, we organised a special event for local children. A team of youngsters took part in a torch run on Friday April 27. The challenge ran for five miles through five local schools and linked more than a thousand pupils.

Deans goes Olympic


The Deans Festival is a community funday providing entertainment for all ages and open to anyone wanting to join the fun. The event is organised by local volunteers (from the villages of Rottingdean, Ovingdean and Woodingdean) and supported by the schools of Downs View, Our Lady of Lourdes, Rudyard Kipling, St Margarets and Woodingdean Primary School.

Part of Brighton Fringe, the Deans May Festival combines elements of traditional fêtes and modern fundays for a good day out for all the family.
